Substance Ministry

Substance provides bags of food for the homeless, the underserved, and those with food insecurities, whether individuals or families. We also offer a hot meal every Wednesday, washers and dryers for laundry needs (we also provide laundry detergent and dryer sheets), and showers and toiletries for those needing those services.

Substance strives to:

Improve Health Outcomes:

Nutritious meals help individuals and families maintain better health, reducing hospital visits, lowering health costs, and preventing chronic illnesses often linked to food insecurity, like diabetes and heart disease.

Economic Stability:

Access to food allows families to allocate more of their limited income toward other essentials, like rent, utilities, and education, which can lead to a more financially stable community overall.

Support Vulnerable Groups:

Substance can be a lifeline for the elderly, children, homeless, and low-income families who are disproportionately affected by food insecurity. This focused support can enhance the well-being and security of the community's most vulnerable members.

Community Resilience:

When the community knows there is a reliable source of food support, they are better equipped to handle economic downturns, emergencies, or other challenges. Substance can act as a stabilizing force during times of crisis.

Substance is provided every Wednesday from 3:00-6:00 PM. We meet in the New Life Center at the Miami Church of the Nazarene at 2025 E. Central Ave. in Miami, Oklahoma.
